PRINCIPAL

Don Buchholz

Don leads development efforts for Korsail Energy. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the development and management of renewable energy projects including market analysis, site identification, community and landowner outreach, property leases, feasibility studies, and state and local permitting.

He brings years of solar and commercial real estate development experience to the team with previous project development roles at Silicon Ranch and Hexagon Energy. Don holds a B.S. in Engineering Science and an M.E. in Civil Engineering, both from Vanderbilt University.

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Wes Purinton

Wes provides support in all phases of utility-scale greenfield solar developments. His responsibilities range from land search, site selection, due diligence, negotiation, navigating the permitting process, coordinating with contractors and consultants, managing budgets, scheduling, and overseeing construction. Taking the project from inception to COD.

He brings four years of experience in real estate development and commercial brokerage to the team. Wes holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder.

DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Justin Higgins

Justin brings value to the Korsail team by providing support during the real estate-related stages of developing new solar projects. His role involves a variety of duties, including site selection and land procurement, conducting due diligence, negotiating purchase and lease agreements with property owners, ensuring project compliance with permitting and zoning requirements, and assisting the team with project off-take.

Justin attained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder and has three years of experience working in multifamily and industrial real estate brokerage.

DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

Abigail Scheuermann

Abigail provides support to the Korsail team through parcel research, local and regional policy analysis, and project management through the permitting stage.

Abigail earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder. With experience in Land Use Planning, Abigail brings knowledge and experience in local zoning regulations and processes to the team.

DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

Jean'Paul Bernard

Jean’ Paul supports the Korsail team by providing value during the real estate-related stages of developing new solar projects including site selection, land procurement, conducting due diligence, negotiating purchase and lease agreements, ensuring project compliance with permitting and zoning requirements, and assisting the team with project take-off. Jean’ Paul contributes communication, leadership, and drive toward team efforts and business improvements with his strong decision-making talents and collective brainstorming skills.

He brings two years of experience in Land Management to the Korsail team. Jean’ Paul has attained a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

Daniel Rivera-Ibarra

Daniel provides value in the early phases of utility-scale solar development. He assists with a variety of responsibilities such as site selection, land search, performing due diligence, negotiating lease & purchase agreements, managing operations, and navigating project compliance for permitting & interconnection approval. 

He brings four years of renewable energy data analysis experience to the team and holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado Denver. 

DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

Mason Templet

Mason aids the Korsail team by providing value to the development efforts. His role involves developing new solar projects including site selection, conducting due diligence, negotiating purchase and lease agreements, project compliance with permitting and zoning requirements, and project take-off. Mason’s area of expertise is communication, decision-making, and a competitive drive to aid team efforts in business improvements. 

Mason is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Finance. He brings a year of experience in Land Management and five years of experience in financial services. 

 
DEVELOPMENT ANALYST

Chris Manus

Chris provides support to the Korsail team through land procurement efforts, purchase and lease agreement negotiations, property owner communication, and project development analysis. 

In addition to more than a decade of operations, leadership, and project management experience, Chris holds a B.S. in Environmental Policy from Indiana University, as well as an MBA from Ball State University. 

He is also a PMP-certified project manager and a proud military Veteran, having served six years in the United States Army as an infantryman, where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 

DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Jonathan Tardif

Jonathan provides support for community solar development projects. His role involves a variety of duties, including conducting due diligence, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and managing permitting application and review on projects across the county. Jonathan’s area of expertise is in permit preparation and review and working with local jurisdictions throughout the permitting process.

Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Public Administration with a Minor in Urban Planning. Jonathan brings over five years’ worth of experience in project management and development review in local government. His experience includes both commercial and residential development review in urban and rural settings, as well as public hearing presentations and community engagement.

DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Rohan Patil

Rohan aids the Korsail team by overseeing the technical aspects of our solar and storage projects. He supports the development of greenfield solar and storage projects from initial feasibility studies, through preliminary design and interconnections, and on to commercial operation. 

Rohan holds a MSE in Energy Engineering with a specialization in Solar Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His professional background encompasses expertise in Interconnection Applications, Electrical Engineering, and Power Plant Maintenance.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

Liz Cohan

Liz supports our daily success by ensuring smooth office operations & marketing strategies for Korsail. Her role involves a variety of responsibilities including social media outreach, coordinating the services & duties of various personnel within or outside of the organization, managing our inbound calls, calendars & bookkeeping.

Liz holds a B.A. in Public Relations from Western Michigan University and has eight years of experience in the financial industry.
